Tony Francis

My profile Tony Francis A.K.A (Tee bone)

I am a multi skilled person whose is passionate about basketball and other sports. I always seek to achieve the best results in all I do. My background is in engineering as I am fully qualified fabrication welder.

I am people oriented and currently work as fitness and basketball coach at Gateway College’s Basketball Academy. I co-ordinate fixtures, mentor individuals on their etiquette/ behaviour  both off and on the court. I also run the under sixteen basketball team for the Leicester Warriors Basketball Club. The club has existed for 25 years and was the first black managed club to achieve constant success, being unbeaten for five seasons doing the double by winning both Leicestershire league and the cup. As basketball is my passion I also find it to be a great way of revealing a person’s character as well as teaching and incorporating life skills.

I am also interested in Badminton, dance and martial arts. I enjoy quizzes and have an academic interest in black history, which has inspired me to raise the aspirations of young people of African Caribbean heritage via creative and expressive arts and physical activity with Iliffe Arts.
